Blue + Red = Purple

Blue + Red = Purple

The blog Foxy G’s Den of i-KNIT-quity was nice enough to feature the photo above on their blog today in a post all about crayons. There are a lot of interesting facts and some great artwork featured. For instance, did you know “the blue Crayola® ranks #1 in America’s Top 50 Colors.  Red comes in at #12, and Laser Lemon Yellow brings up the rear at #5″? Great stuff.

Penguin Hop

Penguin Hop

This is the newest shot I’ve got at the Farmer’s Market (I actually sold my only copy today, but I’ll have more next week.) Printed out it’s 12″ x 36″  and has “Penguin Hop” underneath the image. The person that bought it purchased it for a friend who collects penguins, which I thought was pretty cool.

The five shots that make up the image where shot at the Hogle Zoo in 2007, but I didn’t get around to creating this until late last year when I was catching up on my photo backlog. I think the second frame is probably my favorite, it looks like the penguin is thinking, “Wow. This step is reeeeeally tall.” I’ll get this and last weeks shots up on Etsy tomorrow or Monday at the latest.

2nd Annual World Wide Photo Walk

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

The 2nd Annual World Wide Photo Walk is today and both Colby and myself will be participating in the one taking place in West Jordan, UT. With over 50 photographers all walking down the Jordan River Pathway, it will certainly be interesting. We will make sure to post pictures once we get back.

Update: The photowalk was great. Hot (probably close or over 100) but great. Colby had some battery issues so he wasn’t able to shoot, but that just meant I got to play with his macro lens for most of the walk. I’ll post some shots once I get them processed. I also won a cool Drobo had from Scott Bourne over at Photofocus which is pretty cool.

Sleeping Lady

Sleeping Lady

Thanks for dropping by. A couple times a week this is going to be where we are going to be posting pictures that we have shot throughout the week, new items we have for sale in our store and maybe even a little bit of general photography information. If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot us an email.

And now a little bit about the shot you see above. I took this in the middle of June at the International Peace Gardens in Salt Lake City. We had gone up to grab some lunch at the Peoples Market and decided to take a stroll through the garden as well. I found this little guy sleeping all wrapped up in a bunch of grass. I love how the red color of the ladybug just pops out against the green of the grass.
